How has BPD affected your relationship with your partner

My partner has recently left me and I find myself wondering how big a part of that did my BPD play. It was always a fragmented relationship to begin with but after my diagnosis of BPD I felt I could now perhaps understand why things was so difficult at times. However I found it increasing harder as I didnt know if I could trust my thoughts or feelings anymore. If I was over reacting or under reacting simply because I was afraid I was wrong about something and my BPD was simply blowing things out of proportion. Therapy tells my I was in an unhealthy relationship, that I was controlled emotionally and mistreated but since my diagnosis I really dont know what to believe as I cant seem to trust my own thoughts or even memories anymore. Has anybody else had similar issues possibly from this condition in a relationship

Yes yes and yes i have had problems in my personal life with bpd, but i think right now you are going through a transitional phase... you are adding this diagnosis into your life like a newborn or a puppy or kitten, you wont feel that way forever i promise the best advise i can give you throughout this part is to focus on what your red flags are and make decisions to avoid going down those same old bad roads, and if it helps NO not all your memories are false at all, you went thru what you went thru and you perceived that experience/information the way you did and that is called YOUR TRUTH, there is nothing wrong with having your own truth and your own experiences, they probably arent made up at all, but possibly mixed up a little, focus on those red flags and dont go down the old path and head down a different path!

And if you have split up from your s/o then thats a part of YOUR TRUTH, too, he left when you could have really used some back up, ur not imagining anything

I had a lot of the same hurdles myself! If you can find a good counselor preferrably with experience with bpd and a psychiatrist the counselor will give you advise and direction when you ask and the psychiatrist will prescribe any meds that you may need, usually a counselor can help speed things up as well!

Yeah i was in hospital right up until Christmas. My first psychiatrist meeting was meant to be this week but they cancelled due to the virus unfortunately. Biggest thing I'm doing for myself is researching and trying to grasp all this as much as I can. I hope a better understanding can help me battle it better. It's a juggle with depression and social anxiety but hopefully I'm not get to the point of being placed back into hospital again anytime soon. Thanks for your help ..its nice to know there is a way foward

Of course np and yeah i can see y they cancelled in person... but what about online counseling? You can do that these days with GOOGLE, OH YEAH🤘! Google is going to be a good option during the epidemic... look up some online counseling and you can do skype/facetime/webcam in your own home and hey... that may be even better because of social anxiety! What do u think?
