I mean how do you react when a Narcissist is being a constant bully to you?
What can you do to lessen the blow?
My NPD brother verbally abuses me every minute.
For many reasons I can’t get into it now, I can’t just ignore him completely.

You can't heal in an environment that makes you sick. Leave and cut all ties are the best remedies to deal with persons with NPD.

If your situation doesn't permit to do this, I recommend to prepare the necessary things to make it possible. The longer you stay in a toxic situation, the more it will harm you.

I was going to say I laugh in their faces if someone tries to belittle or bully me. Because I don't care what they think. But seeing as this person is your brother, it's not quite that simple.

I agree with Molly Bloom.

Dr Ramani is a good Youtube channel. She specialises in narcissism.

What’s your story @fragrant_violet?
Thanks for the question. I'd love to answer but can't. All I can say is that I'm surrounded by narcissists. I mostly ignore. If I'm feeling mischievous, I look them in the eye, tilt my head, and put on a stupid expression. Or salute them if they say something stupid.

Ignoring completely works best for me

Ask him how he's getting on without a wife and children around

Nah, just ignore him. Let him suffer

My sister got a new boyfriend when she hit 60 last year after one year of divorce. I was amazed but there are zo many divorced men and women around of that age that many choose the least of two evils, the other being loneliness.

A few months ago there was an Italian in his 60s on this forum who was quite clearly a nasticist and like so many, had no idea why he could not hold a relationship down. I told him what I thought the problem was and he went ballistic :rofl2: Hit the nerve on the spot

If someone gets to that age but dtill cant work out whats wrong with them - let them run

Yeah I mentioned this before and it met with a bit of resistance but I have met so many nasticists that I can't help feeling they got autism too. My roommate is one and exhibits all the sensory symptoms what autistics have. Another reason why they have zero capacity to feel empathy.

Narcissists hate being laughed at but you don't need to provoke them that far. Subtle piss-taking works for me and the beauty of it is that you don't need to say anything. My favorite is tbe gormless expression with mouth half open. The nasticist does not know how to take it. They are very bad at understanding body language in general
