How do you know when to take
Yourself to the hospital?
I'm not doing well.

How do you know when? if you need urgent medical attention you mean? hm maybe it would depend on the circumstances and what you did or were doing. if your heart is pulsing at an irregular rate/ if parts of your body feel numb... why what's the problem?

I'm on my third week of a bipolar 2
Episode and have been wanting
To self harm. I can't ever relax.
Coping skills that used to work,
Are just keeping me busy.
I'm wanting to drastically swlf harm.
It would stop the horrible way I've been
Feeling. My therapist says this one
Is going on three months.
I did blood work for my psych Friday.
Maybe something will show up.
I also have an anxiety disorder.

Ah now i am a bit more informed than i was :)
- coping skills are good... Sitting outside in my garden in the pitch black dark at 3 in the morning is what calms me, heh. but im sorry you have to feel so low now and recently, maybe you can chat in here or to anyone you fancy to make you feel better :hug1: and i dont know what a blood work is for and if this is for your original question then i would say if you feel it would make you feel safer to go to the hospital then you could..I'm sure me and any of us here would like to chat and i hope you can feel better

What are some of your coping skills?
I've taken myself in before but, the
ER only kept me less than 12
Hours. I do feel like I may need to go
In the morning.
I'd go now but I've taken my night
Meds. Didn't help calm me down at
All.

Call you therapist first thing in the morning and tell what you have told us. Perhaps there is a psychiatric unit you can be admitted to instead of the ER or from the ER if ordered by your therapist. In the mean time hang in there and keep posting.

I agree with snapshot about contacting services or perhaps an emergency appointment with your GP?? Certainly get help if you feel you need it xxx

I agree; I think you should tell a mental health professional how you're feeling and they'll be able to help you make the call. I'm so sorry this episode is lasting so long for you. Sounds like you need help.

Hey Ladybug,

My coping skills? i dont actually have any haha...apart from when i use to sit outside in my garden at 3-5 in the morning ..thats genuinely all that I have ever found that calms me, nothing else. maybe thats my problem
