How do you get out of a depression?

Lately I've been feeling overwhelming feelings of stagnation and worthlessness. I'm naturally a spiritual person and have New Age beliefs but also am a sufferer of depression and anxiety. This crisis has caused me mental turmoil and has me thinking suicidal thoughts. I've been frequently putting myself down for not knowing how to deal with my depression better. Any advice for staying productive and optimistic while soldiering out of a depression? Thank you, I wish you all the best!

which came first the low self esteem or the depression

they cause each other. going around in circles. feeding off each other. snowballing.

its good you have the spirituality. you should expand upon that. use that as the gateway to expanding your mind more into all those higher more positive ideas. mind you that could send you into a mania lol. thats what happened to me. i was reading all that good stuff trying to heal my trauma and improve my mind but it kept me in a permanent mania. it was painful getting almost no sleep for 5 yrs lol

so keep expanding that knowledge but if it feels too powerful just put it down for a month or two. the mind will actually keep improving on its own as a chain reaction from the previous learned knowledge.

Its almost impossible to answer this question.

Because depression is different for everyone.

Its like say "how do you solve a problem?".

I think the best is to start from small questions.

1. Why are you depress. Which also can be asqued as Why you dont feel ok? Or What things make you feel bad.

Depression is caused because "something makes you feel bad".

So the way to beat depression means "eradicate that which makes you feel bad" ? Not completely, because some things cant be erradicated.

So then you have two option:

1. Erradicate the problem. Or
2. Cope with the problem.

Its up to what is making you feel bad the option you have to follow.

Some things cant be changed, so the only path is coping.

But its IMPOSIBLE to start to resolve the problem if there isnt a clear defunition of the problem.

So first step is define what makes you feel bad. Then you can start to think what to do with it.

Know that better days are coming for you.

Music helps me. Music therapy or listening to good and uplifting songs on youtube makes me feel and think better. Listen to music several times a day or whenever you can.

Also doing what I love to do which is writing helps me too. What do you love to do? What are you good at? Is it cooking, baking, gardening, doing arts and crafts? Do it and it will make you happy and even be successful.
