How do you deal with the sleeping

I have nothing in my life. Nothing works out, and I can never start something positive no matter how much I try. No one needs me really, I have such trouble sleeping. Which means, there is nothing to get up for - I try to go to bed around 1am, I lay in bed for hours trying to get to sleep and then when I do, its really bad tossing and turning nightmare sleep. I can be like this for hours, often until late afternoon.

I have nothing to get up for, and getting up at an average time say 9am or something is terrible as I have the whole day to just sit and be bored with myself.

Is there any point in getting up if nothing and no one needs you? and if there is, how do you do it?

I wish i was an expert on this subject (but I'm not).

I personally have found, that finding a subject (no matter how specialised) that i can try to concentrate on and find some kind of fulfilment, no matter how trivial, helps me remain sane.

It could be anything (from aerosols to astronomy), just devote your time to something you enjoy and build from there.

I hope this is of some help :)

Hi Abertha

Are you able to undertake some voluntary work? When I was feeling like I had little to get up for, some not stressful voluntary work really helped give my life some meaning and value, something to get up for, and something to do to relieve the boredom.

I know it's not the be all and end all, or a cure but it can help alleviate some of the issues you describe.

Also you might find that when you are more active you sleep better.
Perhaps undertaking some form of exercise if you can do this will help your sleep?

I havnt been to bed yet. Well no thats a lie. I went up and gave up an hour and half later. I do have sleeping tablets but i try not to take them too often. Have you tried the usual herbal tea, milky drink, relaxation cd etc. You may find them helpful
