So i have schizophrenia and hear three voices all male telling me all sorts of weird and wonderful things. My distractions dont always work but recently got my driving liesence back so can get out of the house. The voices want me to self harm. I seriously just cant cope with them and dont know how to deal with them. Its like having surround sound on 24/7. My doc has just recently increased my meds and my care coordinator has suggested she could refer me to safe spaces rather than volunatry admitting myself to hospital. I just need a break from them theres no let up! How do you all cope or dont you ? I need some help from other people in the same situation as me. I was very ill last year and dont want it to ever get that bad again but i have a tendancy to listen to them as its hard not to and differentiate whats real and whats not.

I am sorry you are suffering so badly. I used to hear voices and its really hard not to listen to them. I would suggest you go with what the docs etc say and your care coordinator really knows you so maybe they can help you.

When I had voices I had my meds changed again and again until I found the right cocktail that worked for me. But I do relate to how you are feeling and the fear you will get ill again.

This might sound silly , but try getting a stuffed doll . The voice from stuffed dolls is usually very friendly and it can be a very good ally against the bad voices . Just a suggestion !
Good luck !

I just hear the one voice and he's pretty much constant, he doesn't tell me to self harm or commit suicide or anything serious like that he just wants my attention all the time.

I just ignore him which is so easy thanks to medication, I'm on 30mg of Aripiprazole and that reduces the volume of his voice significantly. I just relax and let him wash over me like he isn't even there.

I hear voices. They are mainly present at my home location. I do not know why this is.

I tend to ignore them, but sometimes I try to listen to what they say but it is all so muffled these days.

I hear a high pitched wailing - IDK why.

i say i don't hear voices nowadays, though whether thats the best answer seeing i'm dependent on benefitsm i do find it hard to ignore people talking on the bus and hear my neighbours tv, what hearing voices would consist of, i've defined certain things as so normal they don't exist any more

hearing voices when i was a young lunatic, if you told a psychiatrist you'd be admitted now they seem to help with a benefit claim, wish i could claim i heard voices nowadays, won't help my denial if i'm called in for interview anymore than my habit of normalising things
