How do you actually sue somebody?

I talked to my lawyer. Apparently, it costs over twenty thousand grand to sue someone for committing defamation. Is that true?

The reason for my interest in taking up the matter in court, stems from the fact that multiple movie producers and actors in Edinburgh keep slandering me, because I said something on Twitter to an actress way back in 2016. Since then, this person has been trash talking about me, behind the scenes. It's a deplorable situation. And I finally acquired proof in November that she did this.

Recently, I was in court to answer for "death threats" towards people, even though the police could tell I was just saying that. They will just keep on getting me blackballed. Maybe I can't do anything about that anyway.

Judging by your situation and what you are saying it may be best to not sue. If you were the person in the first place to say something in the wrong I imagine it would be hard to sue for defamation. The argument would be that you shouldn’t have said what you did in the first place.
It is also worrying me that you are every casually talking about being in court over death threats. Death threats are not a joke and not something you should say in jest!

It may be better for you to refrain from social media altogether if this is what happens. I am sorry if that seems blunt but there isn’t really another way to put it.

Yeah. I don't see the point in looking for any more acting jobs. They told too many people about me, so they all speak among themselves.

Moving could be a option, but depending on the tweets etc they could still follow.
It is worrying how cavalier you seem about the fact you’ve tweeted/posted things bad enough to get you taken to court.
No amount of moving can escape that. (And also won’t help getting a new job)

I still stand by steering away from social media, I did forget to mention maybe therapy? If these tweets/posts are heat of the moment some anger management may be needed?

Yeah, but I never contacted this actress for long enough. She just kept on talking about me, and I eventually obtained evidence.

The thing you said about quitting social media is a good suggestion. It's not really an interest to me for the most part, but it was once useful for finding jobs for extra work in films. Now I can't even do that.

People will talk...

Yes but you’ve just said you were in court for death threats as well? Even if something was said years ago people will still talk if it was bad enough.
Look at what happens will celebs who have post brought up sometimes from when they were teens. It’s just best never to post anything that could be brought back on you like that

Yeah. There's no point in pursuing any more acting opportunities. Is there? It seems kind of stupid though, when I could have been nothing more than a blurry dot in the movies they deliberately omitted me from.

Apart from that, this woman thinks she's the Angelina Jolie of the indie Scottish acting scene, and has too many goons pandering to her.

Oh well. I guess I can just enjoy what once was, but will never be again...
