I'm only able to go places with another person. I need to go to see a psychiatrist, my mother in law will drive me there and she might walk me in to the waiting area or maybe not. I dont want to ask her it's embarassing. Either way I will be on my own while I wait for the Dr and everything. Do you have anything that calms you while you go to an appointment by yourself?

I understand how you feel, this is basically why I've never been to any specialist - I wouldn't be able to do it by myself.
As you posted it on Thursday - is it already behind you? Did you do ok or did she go with you?
I hope you're well

I find texting a friend or family member can help.

Keep an object in your hand to keep you grounded and think that you can do this keep repeating the phrase over and over in your head and don't worry

Hi Chelsea!

Firstly, i want you do understand that you are not alone and plenty of us go through this same exact feeling, from the fear of the situation itself to feeling embarssed to tell someone what youre feeling. It took me a long time to acess this situation myself and i still struggle, but i found it very helpful and extremely important to tell everyone involved exactly how youre feeling; your mother in law your doctor, etc. I know its VERY hard, but dont be afraid to express yourself verbally, itll help you immensely and more often than not the other party will be very understanding. I hope this helps! Im also here if you need someone to talk to, i also suffer from panic and agoraphobia and am new to these forums
