How can i help?

My sister has been trying for kids for years but been unable to get pregnant. We discovered she had polycystic ovary syndrome (pcos) which was difficult for her, but she was given medication to help her ovulate meaning having kids was still on the table for her.

She takes the tablets monthly and needs blood tests to confirm that they have worked. As the months of negative results keep coming she is struggling more and more and finding it difficult to stay positive especially as there is a limited amount of times she can get the medication, and as of now there is only a few more attempts left for her.

I just don't know what to say to her and I don't know how I can help her, i just feel useless.
What can I do?

The only thing you can do is allow her to talk about her feelings. Ask her how she feels or what she is thinking. Let her be sad. Mirror her feelings by saying, "It sounds like you are very sad." Don't try to fix her or make her feel better. She needs to be understood.

Later, much later, a conversation about adoption can occur.
