Has anyone here ever done some sort of a social anxiety meetup? Obviously this would be easier if you live in a large-ish city and can somehow organize it in a safe public space. And then have no one show up because they're too nervous, haha.
Anyway, just curious.

I went to an anxiety group once
and everyone there was painfully shy
so I think it included social anxiety

apparently anxiety groups are very popular in mental health
I have always found group work very valuable
and knowing everyone else there is shy
really helps me to open up

Thanks for your reply Zoe1
Good to hear it helped you. I have never tried to seek one out, but it's crossed my mind. It's worth a try i guess. The only thing is, my city is not that big and i'm afraid of someone i know or went to school with being there, even though that shouldn't be something to worry about.

A galaxy, far far away..
I think that would make me even more anxious, as I don't like being in groups of people, especially strangers, on a social level. I'm more of a 1-to-1 person.

n yeah some people work better 1 - to - 1
I vary on that actually, depends what is going on for me

maybe if you wanted to try it
you could plan to walk out
if there is someone there you feel unsafe around

i see, i don't really like answering 'personal' questions that usually go along with meeting a new person, and spending too much time with them 1 on 1 when they start to ask stuff. But since i've never been to any type of anxiety/mental health meetup, i don't know which i would like more or less.

Yes, i understand that where i live as well. It would be good to talk to people who are similar, instead of all the other people we may be surrounded by who don't know what it's like and may not understand.

I am alone and often when I try to make new friends after a while they notice that I am alone so they ask me "don't you have any friends?". I get really embarrassed, hurt and afraid in a way that I don't want to speak to them again.
