I never received the schizophrenia diagnosis but I did get diagnosed with psychosis which some might consider to be a precursor to schizophrenia or short lived schizophrenia like symptoms.
It started out with hearing voices and believing the lies these voices were telling me which would be classed as being delusional or being dragged into the fantasies created by the voices.
I had a mind reading experience, thought I was telepathic and even had the TV talking to me once, it said something about a 'specialist' and that I was in a 'grey zone', the show that was on was called Leverage and the character Hardigan said this to me, it was one of the weirdest experiences I ever had.
In hospital I also had an experience where people were speaking gibberish or at least it seemed that way to me, they must have been talking to each other normally but to me the words didn't make sense.
I later learned I was just dealing with just one voice and not multiple ones and that he seems to be a master of sound, I believe it was him who made the TV say something other than what was in the script, muddled up the words that people around me were saying and could speak in perfect sync with the TV, at a friends house he was saying what the TV was saying exactly when it was being said like he had the script to read from.
