Hi All, thank you for reading. I'm new and coming out of an emotionally and mentally abusive narcissistic relationship. I have C-PTSD and a friend who says he's helping me, but I'm not sure he is. He keeps bringing up past experiences and things I've done to hurt him and it's a fresh blow/trigger each time. I'm not sure he's helping......or trying to hinder me. I'm looking for help & advice. Thank you muchly.

Hi and welcome. It would probably be alot more helpful for you to look at positive experiences in your past. Maybe your friend can help that way. We have all made mistakes in the past and maybe let your friend know that he is making things harder by bringing up past mistakes. :welcome:

I know how you feel in a way, I got out of a narcissistic horrible 6 year relationship just under 2 years ago. Not by personal choice but I had to move away! Ended up being the best decision of my life. I still struggle, and occasionally have setbacks.
anyway, I think you may need new view on life. You don't need reminders of thoughts or things that make you feel horrible. Growth and feeling good about yourself should be yours & your friends focus, if they're not doing that for you, maybe let them know? Maybe they're not aware of how they're making you feel? And if they can't change and help you grow, take some time apart & do it, do it for you and your well being.
