I have been with my partner for over 10 years and right from the start he was honest and told me about his experiences with mental health issues. I love him to bits and I have managed over the years when he is experiencing an episode. This time it is different though I feel like I am under a cloud, when I am on my own I can't stop crying. I put on a smile at work when I am out and about. With his recent outbursts I can't help but take them personal and I find myself actually questioning my self worth and if I am giving him the impression that I am doing the things he is accussing me of.
I found this forum with the hope of finding someone who is experiencing or lived with something similar.

Hi there, welcome to the forum.

Has he got a formal diagnosis?

He's told me in the past he is manic depressive which I think is bipolar now. But I unsure. Says it's his problem and I am not to worry or get involved. He just gets so angry with everything. He has never been physical with me never raised a hand or threatened it's just verbal abuse and ranting

Is he verbally abusive often or is it just in episodes of mania?

I think you should take it to heart really as he shouldn't be treating you like that at all. Mental illness is not an excuse for bad behaviour.

The thing is I know he doesn't mean it his head is spinning and I just happen to be the one who is there at the time when he balloons.

Maybe you should look into getting help for him. Does he have secondary health services helping him?

We spoke last wk and He self referred himself to a service. They got in touch and didan assesment over the phone they can't do anything as it deals with people who aren't as sever as what he is feeling at the mo.
They contacted his GP though and they have referred him to the mental health team

It's just a waiting game now, shouldn't take too long though hopefully.
And I am proud that he is accepting that he needs help. It's just in the mean time.
