Just wanted to stop in and say "hello" as I am new to this forum!

This new year, I have decided to really focus on bettering myself, which means tackling my mental challenges and inner demons. I have dealt with anxiety and depression since I was in middle school (I am now 28) and I have also recently started trying to pin point the root of these uncontrollable thoughts that I've been having for years now (I have determined them to be intrusive thoughts and related to an Obsessive Disorder).

I am not sure what I am doing or what I need to do. I am not sure where to start. I am not sure any of what I am doing will even help me. All I know is that I am stuck, and I have to get unstuck or die trying. I have recently given birth and have been married to her father now for a few years. If not for myself, I need to be better for them. But I do need to be better for myself, too.

This is just a snippet of who I am and where I am in life. I hope to dive right in here and try to gain from it all that it has to offer while I seek additional ways of helping myself elsewhere.

When you have a child, it's hard not to be anxious. The good news is that when you turn 7, the child is almost completely independent and the incidents of falls, colds, etc. decrease. It's good to teach him to take care of himself, instead of wondering how to protect him (my mistake). If your husband can help you, twice a week aerobics / fitness class or other is an anti-anxiety remedy.
