Hi, I am wondering if anyone knows of any respite centres or supported acomodation within the uk. The problem is they seem to be limited and have restrictions on the type of service users they accept. I am currently working with a man who has dual diagnosis and is profoundly depressed and desperately in need of rest. Have tried a few places linked with the mental health charities but the dual diagnosis seems to be a stumbling block. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

If you could give a clue as to the area of the country you are in or thinking of?

Thanks for reply! Based in Doncaster South Yorkshire but I imagine it would be suitable to tavel most of the UK as long as there are support staff on hand. It may be private or funded.

I know of one called The Avenue in York. It's part of the NHS and like a halfway house inbetween independant living and hospital. Not sure it's what you're looking for but thought I'd mention it. I'm sure there would be similar set ups around most cities.

Good luck!
