There should be an ' Out of hours Social worker ' in your area

You can normally get the number from a local hospital

You can go to A&E and ask to see a Psychiatrist. Well done on wanting to keep yourself.

Got assesed and got given some diazepam and told to take it easy, yeah thanks alot i went to my local hospital and thats what they said. Ive been drugged up to the eyeballs today so i couldnt feel anything. Ive only just now been ablt to get away from all my family huddled around me looking at me like im a fucking alien, i wanna just run out they dont understand my pain. Supposed to have an appointment tommorow with my pdoc hes gonna have it im obviously on the wrong medication, i thought meds are therapy are meant to improve your condition not worsen it

Thanks for the messages by the way

Help

Hi Mr C, can you contact your Doctor to refer you to one of the mental health charities if you live in the UK,
they can offer emotional and practical support..

I personally do not take any medication. I just rely on the talking therapy I used to do. Is there any particular medication that is making you want to self harm?

My view on medication withdrawal is to come off slowly under Doctor's instructions. If you come off too quickly it can have some horrible unwanted effects on you.

maudikie.

I,m glad you went o A & E, though it is not the best place for your long term care. I should see your G.P. and ask him to refer you back to the psychiatrist as there are lots of different medications, and it might be that a change would be the answer to your problem. Tell the family that you don't want to hurt their feelings, but please can you be alone for a short time, and try to get some rest.
Best wishes, and I hope it works out well.:)

hiya, how are you feeling? I hope you managed to speak to someone today. Are they changing your meds? If you still feel you want to be admitted then i would just tell them that. some times all you need is a little time away. i went down to my docs and told them i wasnt leaving until they helped me and they got me a bed. stay strong x

Hang in there, we are pulling for you. Be sure to eat right. One thing you have to do pronto is cut out all junk food and alcohol. Very bad for bipolar plus a bad mix with the meds. Get some greens to smooth out your insides. Walk at least 3 miles a day in a safe area not too near a lot of other people, hopefully in nature. Watch a bird or a bug. Really!

Thanks for the advice skath, i have been hitting the gym hard recently, just got to cut out the drink and drugs.

Seeing as i live in a big city its quite hard to find a nice nature trail :)

Thanks buddy :)

Its just a scary position to be in, for years i have had umpteen close friends and family try and question me on my shall we say erratic behavoir everthing now just seems to fall into place. I have done an AWFUl lot of research and as usual i only pick up on the bad parts and im kinda shitting myself because im starting to realise my triggers and its something i have never noticed before.

Your so right about getting out though, i love my music and i love being out and about having a long walk so im gonna try and do that daily now.

The drink and drugs seem to be a escape from reality at times, i mean i can go weeks without having a drink and then i will binge drink to the extent where im paraletic. Drugs are a major issue they were in my youth during my clubbing days, now again i can go for months, my big downfall is cocaine dont know why i love the feeling of supreme confidence it gives but firstly its messing with my mind and secondly its too damn expensive lol.

Again thank you all for your support and advice.

Any more feedback is greatly appreciated

x
