Hi everyone I’m new...

I posted something along the same lines as this but I just wanted some feedback/reassurance.

Since being diagnosed with Disordered breathing disorder I have been having bad panic attacks due to being terrified that my awful physical symptoms are being caused by something other than the breathing disorder, such as lung cancer. I have been checked a number of times by doctors but I can’t seem to trust them, I keep thinking, what if they missed this or that etc...?

Anyway, since having this breathing disorder and panic attacks I’ve been scared to go out, out of fear of my breathing flaring up, and the reason I am so scared of it is because when it does I think I’m dying and I’m going to stop breathing, my health anxiety is so bad I don’t even believe panic attacks are panic attacks.

I’m going away on holiday in 2 days and I’m terrified because the plane journey is 11 hours... I’m scared that my breathing will flare up, and because I don’t believe it is what the doctors have told me (disordered breathing pattern), I’m scared of being so stuck for 11 hours without being able to get immediate medical attention that I so desperately believe I need or else I’ll die! I am absolutely terrified and I’ve noticed my symptoms have been worse as the trip gets closer...

Please can someone help me?

You just need to calm down. Thinking like this is only going to make it much worse. They have got medical help on planes and they have the breathing machines on the plane for each seat.

Perhaps the fact that it's getting worse as the trip approaches could be a sign that it is really caused by anxiety and panic. I know from experience that using logic, when you feel certain that you are dying even though it's not true, is really difficult and near impossible, but as it has been said, calming down could really help you make the symptoms better. I hope your trip is well. :)
