Hi, I joined at the weekend. I am at a stage where I no longer feel I have answers or even a plan. This is the second time I've been on Fluoxetine (Prozac), I've been on it 6 months and it's no longer working. You may have seen my other thread where I mentioned it was making me fall asleep at the wheel of my car too.
So now I'm yet again starting the weening off process, and am so worried that when I am weened off I will go back to being the irritable, mood swing, angry person I desperately don't want to be, especially as I have two lovely kids and a lovely understanding wife.
Please, please someone suggest what I do next. I've done so much counselling with only limited success. Do I try Vitamin B supplements? St John's Wort? 5-HTP? Or something completely different?
I am desperate and open to suggestions. Any help is massively appreciated.
Chris

:welcome:

There are lots of anti depressants. Maybe your GP would be willing to try a few different ones to see if something other than Prozac will help.

Hey Chris like pink said there are heaps of different meds out there. I was really jaded by so many not working but recently got on escitalopram and it has turned my life around. So don't give up. Welcome to the forum there is heaps of info and life experience on tap here.

:welcome: to the forum. I take efflexor-If I was not on this I would be moody irritable and outright not easy to get along with. I have no real side effects from the medications but I have tried to stop it multiple times and my family notices right away-so do I. I have been on the same meds for 9 years now and they are still working.

Lots of luck with your course of action. Not so sure about over the counter products. Have you been stressed lately? Maybe you are just overtired from worrying about something anxious. Lots of hugs
