The worlds a messed-up place, but for those of you with mental illnesses, it’s even more difficult, but..
There is hope! My wife and I have been married 20 years, and she is bipolar 1. That, my friends is a statistical impossibility!
Believe me, I’ve seen it all (and done most of it)!
...and I won’t lie, it’s been extremely difficult (and sometimes still is).
I joined because my perspective may be helpful to someone here, who knows.

put her on magnesium every night and vitamin d every morning. also flax oil. lots of salad and exercise.

keep your life as flat as possible and avoid anything that seems to trigger her mania. avoid excitement. stay flat and boring.

keep her away from anything that over excites. or anything overly negative. avoid under or over sleeping. if shes depressed dont let he sleep for 12 hours a night. wake her up after 9. and if shes manic do everything to try and help her get more sleep and sleep more normally.

all that will help to reduce bipolar symptoms

Thanks for the response and the suggestions. Unfortunately a flat, boring, stable life is not realistic. I have teenagers and all the drama and dysfunction that goes along with that (not to mention how this illness affected them before we knew what was going on), I’m sure many here can relate.
