Hearing white noise, like a lawn mower all of the time!

So I have been hearing what sounds like a lawn mower outside or a plane maybe for several weeks.

I hear it inside louder than outside mostly because it is quiet I guess. But I hear this sound every where. I have no ear pain and my ears are clean.

My pdoc says it is my anxiety causing it and we need to get me to calm down.

What do you think?

Before you said anxiety producing I instantly thought anxiety.

Is it all the time? Or only when you're stressed? Or are there certain times you hear it?

It has been all of the time for weeks, getting close to a month, and it is getting louder.

It's when you're anywhere? Or just at your house?

If its anywhere, I know Bipolar has a sub category that can have psychosis.

Nope it's not real or a tractor. I hear it all of the time, sleeping, while in my quiet pdoc office today, while at work. It is bad.

Will the Haldol help with this?

It should.

Risperdal (antipsychotic, just like Haldol) doesn't work for me. It might help a little but I don't know. I was off meds from Oct to May. I feel I'm doing as bad or worse than I was off of them.

Most psychiatric drugs can cause tinnitus. Tinnitus can be experienced as many different types of sounds. It's a possibility you should consider. Especially as four to five weeks ago you made a thread saying you'd been started on, and/or had upped dosage of, several different drugs.

Tinnitus sounds louder in quiet environments. Many people do report tinnitus as those sorts of noises.

The timeline coincides with the changes in drugs. When new stuff happens around the time you change a dosage in drugs, they should be the the prime suspect for the cause.

Thanks!

I considered the lithium and lowered the dose to my minimum over a week ago, so not that, unless it needs to be completely gone.

My other meds are new after the ear ringing. Except for Propranolol could that one do it?

This is actually the reason I brought it up to him today as a reason to get off of Li completely
