Things were going better since seeing my therapist, but no matter how hard I try I’m still plagued by these intrusive thoughts constantly. I haven’t spoken to the guy I was involved with for about a week and a half now, however I still find that I’m always worried about what he’s doing, where he is and who he’s with. Logically speaking, he can’t be up to much, because we’re in a second lockdown and nowhere’s open, so surely he can’t be out having another affair. I know it doesn’t really matter either way, but not knowing just drives me crazy. It’s annoying because I was doing so well and now I’m just in a constant state of paranoia. While we haven’t been in contact, I do find myself checking up on his social media, not to see what he posts, because he barely posts anything, but mainly to see when he was last active. I don’t even know why I do this because whether he’s active or not doesn’t mean anything, but I’m always bombarded with these “what if” scenarios and I just don’t know what to do at this point. It’s like my brain won’t shut up and honestly I just feel so hurt and unwanted. Any reassurance or advice would be appreciated

If you are not together, not in love, both of you, him too, then block him. Leave fb even. Remove temptation to look at anyone who makes you feel bad.

Hey thank you, I think sometimes I just get these moments of weakness, and although some days are better than others I’ve still had trouble reconciling what’s happened. Like I genuinely am still in love with him but I know he doesn’t feel the same, so it’s just a matter of getting over it all.
