I've posted before about my mental health but just felt like sharing my experience with my mental health and the complications that come along with both diabetes (type 1) and depression

So I've had diabetes for 6 years now and I started having mental health issues a year after that I was alright at dealing with my diabetes but i slowly became worst and worst with dealing with it and it has come to the point that last year I was in hospital 7 times due to my mistreatment of my diabetes

I've been told it's quite common for my mental health to decline if I'm mistreating my diabetes but I've also been told it's not just due to my diabetes that I have mental health issues a lot of it is due to genetics but also the constant bullying I've dealt with since secondary school (now I'm in college and still deal with bullying)

I'm in a really dark place at the moment I'm not hurting myself cause I'm scared of pain in general so I don't hurt myself and I'm not feeling like I'm gonna kill myself but its just a really hard time emotionally, sadly I'm on a really long waiting list for CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) and idk what to do to get help as I don't have the funding to pay for private therapy and the NHS has long waiting lists

Hi,
I'm so sorry your struggling, do you have a diabetes specialist nurse ? Often they can help support etc.
Have you tried any meds for your depression?
Sorry your on such a long waiting list.
We're here to listen, if it helps.
Take care
