Have you repeatedly left and come back to your non bipolar partner?

Why and for how long? Did you wait on them to reach out to you or did you want to be left alone and come back when you were ready to?

i dont have bp but my partner does. we've only been through one period of his mania together, and during that time he broke up with me because i wanted him to seek treatment. he refused to take his medication and told me that being off his prescription was more important to him than our relationship. our "break up" really only lasted for a few hours--i think because he left his "mixed" more aggressive state and wanted to be affectionate with me again. i've heard this happening in other relationships where a partner has bipolar, so if you're experiencing this know that you are not alone! i wish i could give more helpful insight, but im sending you strength.

I did it. I left him for 5 months. We slowly just started casually talking to each other and he asked me to go out and drink with him one night. Then we ended up back together.
