I've never exactly been homeless... a couple of times me and my dad were in communes when I was young, and we didn't exactly have a house and a postal address. Since I've been independent I've been able to maintain myself and the last few years I've been living off savings.

Sorry about this-a misunderstanding.

I meant sleeping rough when homeless.

When I was homeless I lived on the thames embankment for three days then slept in Ham common (or rather on the common)!!!!

But it was intentional homelessness.

The PD hospital I was in was so horrible I chose the streets over it.

What's so upsetting is that innocent people have, are, and will die as a result of May's Extremist anti-EU Populist agenda & Policies.

I don't read the papers anymore, it's just too depressing.

In another life most of us on here would probably have been extremely successful people.
We are extremely successful peeps already, simply by virtue of living with MH issues, a difficult task in the sort of climate we have today around health and social care :)

Experts by experience, but also achievers in living and coping ;)

Good point and duly noted.

What I really meant was in another life having what others would define as having productive lives.

I've never been homeless. I went camping once for two days primitive style, with a tent and sleeping bag. Woke up semi wet from the moisture of the ground from dew. I barely thought I'd live through that. I would not survive homelessness very long. Of course sometimes we are stronger then we think when bad times arise. I hope to never learn what it's like.
I've been watching very little news for the last month and I'm happier. It's so sad most of it and there is nothing I can do to change the huge events.

I have never been homeless, but some of the people I've known over the years have been, and I have put some of them up for a time :)

I think that when news is as depressing as it is at the moment I think it's probably best not to read that much about it if you've got horrible mental health problems-it just de-energises you.

I am homeless at the moment, and have been on and off for three years. It's not an easy life and it's difficult as I am a single male and we do not get much support unfortunately. I am hoping that I wont have to be homeless for much longer.
