Has anyone been to attend MIND drop-in?

I'm seriously thinking of going soon, possibly tuesday or thursday evening. Very nervous about going, does anyone want to come with me?

Let me know if you need someone to go with you.....

I'd be babbing myself too, so we would be singing from the same hymn sheet.

Wonder how many go, what they get upto etc...

That's alright, it's me being picky and thinking you'd probably get a bit more response from a new thread :D

Not really sure what they get upto, I'm probabl going to go when I'm a bit less of an emotional mess, coz at the moment if I think someone looks at me funny I burst into tears

i would go but you know, what would i say? Cos every time i see people i don't need to say anything. the barriers go up and the smile and the laughs come out and then its like there's nothing wrong.
i know i'll do it with my dr so is it worth trying anything else?

i'm glad it's not just me.

i managed to email samaritans but reading their reply i was overcome by the feeling that they were being condescending even though i know they weren't and i replied.

I went to the Rethink drop in's in my local area. It was helpful to a degree; some good people there. I should maybe go back? I also attended some men's meetings with mind. But I don't like formal type groups, & the therapeutic assistance I really want - just isn't on offer.

It isn't a case of chickening out, it's more the fear of unknown and being looked at and judged by people you don't even know.

hugs
