Hello, I am here because I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and PTSD many years ago. In the past few years my BD has become quite difficult to control. I'm here with the hope of meeting others who live with mental illness.

Hi from a fellow Californian. 🤟🏻 I'm also new to these forums and I'm learning how to live with mental illness as opposed to constantly fighting it and myself.

Sorry to hear that your symptoms seem to be relapsing, hopefully with some adjustments to your meds you'll get some relief.

You're not far from me! I live a bit west of Sacramento. My son and his wife live in SF. Wasn't exactly a "beautiful Calif summer" this year...June through November, all the smoke. A horrendous situation.

Oh it was awful! Especially for my elderly mom and for those struggling with physical illnesses. The wildfires closed city services, schools and classes were cancelled so it affected everyone's life in some manner. I'm thankful for the rains but my heart is heavy for people in Paradise, CA and those close to them.

Yes...I believe that the toxicity of the smoke is unhealthy for all of us breathing it. For older people, like your mom, I just can't even imagine. The rain is a blessing, but then (as you pointed out) rain brings a different set of problems.

I think of next summer and wonder how these firestorms can continue. I don't know how we can keep going through these things.
