Hi all!

Nice to be here with you.

To be honest, I hesitated about registering here at first. I thought I don't "suffer enough" to qualify for a mental health forum lol.

It's tiring to feel I don't deserve things. Don't deserve the space I embody. Don't deserve to be here even though I was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder years ago and can't say I'm totally fine right now.

Ok, enough of being gloomy!

I'm working towards feeling better about myself after all. And I hope registering here is another step in the right direction.

Or just in any direction, really. Simply being and doing stuff is enough.

Right?

You only need to be here because YOU think you need to be here. That is all that matters. Really.

ziedite, you're probably right.

The problem is I'm often not sure what I need or even what I think. It can be difficult to reconcile the opposites. Like wanting to register here and thinking it's a bad idea.

I hope, in time, I'll become better at listening to myself and making the choices that align with who I am.

Schizoaffective is pretty serious dear. I am sorry you were made to feel inadequate.

Yes you maybe kinda stable at the minute, but I do urge you to become knowledgeable about your condition as best you can.

You have a life long condition as so do I, thus you need to prepare your defences for life.

Firstly... registering here and posting here is a good thing. No question about it. So stop judging yourself on that. Secondly, these forums are filled with people who have either been through your issues now or in the past and can totally get it. It sounds like you need help on your self worth issues which most of us here deal with... so we get it. Sadly... professional help and/or meds seem to be the way to go to improve the view we have of oneself. If we could do it on our own... well we'd be millionaires. So ask for help.

ziedite, I do have issues with self-worth. And these issues are both the reason I wanted to post here (as I knew I could perhaps get some encouragement) and the thing that was hindering me (what if everyone thinks I'm stupid or boring or whatever).

I'm in therapy for over nine months now and my therapist is amazing and helpful. However, besides him, I have little support. I thought by coming here I could get some of what I (mostly) lack in my life. Some genuine human interaction, even if online. Even if just a tiny bit of it.

This need eventually overcame the fear of "not seeming good enough". So here I am.
