I am in a bit of a rough patch right now, close to giving up on trying to clean up my apartment, thinking about what I will do if I get evicted, which is a very real possibility if the building manager needs to access my apartment. But this poem came to me, so I thought I would share it. I hope this will help someone else who is struggling.

Little by Little

Little by little
I will do this
Little by little
I will
Reclaim my life
Little by little
I will
take back control
Little by little
I will declutter
My mind
My life
My home
Little by little
Peace
will replace anxiety
Hope will replace
Despair
Little by little
I will find a home for
My soul
And little by little
My soul will
Blossom and flourish again.

I would happily jump on a plane and help you clean up your apartment right now, it would be just what I need. I wish I could.
I hope you can keep your head above water and feel ok xxx

Thank you, Topcat. Although I would be far too ashamed to even let you in, it's that bad.
No way, I'm so not someone to be ashamed around! No judgement from me, and the bigger the challenge the bigger the reward anyways :) xx

thats a good poem did you write it
Thank you, midnightphoenix. Yes, I did write it. It just sort of came to me when I was thinking about breaking down all the tasks of cleaning my apartment, and then it turned into being about so much more than cleaning my apartment.

Right now I am just giving myself little tasks with rewards in between. I finally cleared all the gunk out of my kitchen sink, sprayed it with bleach bathroom spray, and loaded the dishwasher, and now I am having a cup of blackberry blizzard tea from David's Tea (Canada).

That's what I do, a cup of tea is one of my rewards too, lol. Or do a job and let myself lay on my bed for 5 mins before I get up for the next job. Sometimes just going for a wee is the reward if I've kept going with the jobs till I'm desperate

Aww, thanks☺ Wish I could actually make money writing poetry. Sometimes I daydream about winning the lottery, buying a house, and hiring a cleaner. If I had someone coming once a week to clean I'd be more motivated to keep things tidy. BTW, I don't even buy lottery tickets.
