At yesterday's PMHG (see abbreviations :)) there was someone from Focusline promoting their service. Basically this is a 24 hour service (well it operates whenever the Trust's other lines are not open!) for anyone with an MH problem seeking support and guidance - it is not a helpline but will provide appropriate numbers etc.. The number is 0800 027 21 27 and their web-site is at.....

Hi nick i phoned focusline once @ 5am n was very disapointed. The person who answered was so obviously having a very deep sleep n took ages 2 come round by which time i just hung up. I did tell my mh team who apoligised about the service i know we r all only human but honestly the person was a paid worker.
Sorry i didnt even say good morning james

Thanks - that's really interesting jd. I have recently had a set of survey figures covering all the services BSMHT provides and Focusline doesn't come out very well. Its something I will be able to pursue hopefully. If you do ever have to try again please let me know how you get on.

Are you going to the Depression Support Group this morning?

I told them all about the psmp. Paul 1 had heard about it n the others thought it sounded like a good idea. I really liked jo. Another woman jean is going 2 e mail me about the stirchly group that sounds sweet n gentle though it was ok @ the library n they did say that every1 tries 2 support each group. Hi JD. Really pleased that you went to the support group yesterday and that you enjoyed it. :) well yes I guessed jamesdean wasn't your real name - but the vast majority of people here don't use their real name as you will have noticed. In fact I am one of the few who does - but I wish I hadn't, not cos like you I want to hide anything, but because I could have a cool nick! (yours is excellent). Still too late to change now :(. Use whatever name you prefer :).

I know Jean as well -she is a lovely person too and I am sure the Stirchley group is just as good. I keep meaning to go to that but somehow there is always something else on or it isn't possible.

Founding member just means you are one of the first 500 people to join the Forum - we thought it would be a nice idea to give some recognition of that.

Strange about the deja vu :).

Hi

hi nick feeling a little:mad:with so much on my mind but haho its all good. How r u feeling?
I emailed the psmp co ordinator n told her that the feelings i had got from other people about new beginings was positive. It seems everything things going on now. Im filling in my tutor application pack, ive been 2 the depression support group, 2 day i recieved a letter asking me if i would like 2 become a member of nhs foundation trust 4 city hospital.
Funny i was going 2 c my doctor 2 day n i told him about everything including the forum, he did say b careful not 2 do 2 much n get 2 ill n crash. But my mum n my partner have been saying 2 me since christmas b careful n i kinda keep saying dont worry u c my horoscopes been talking all about this change in my life.U c @ 1st just after christmas i went manic because i was knotted up in physical pain ive never done manic in my life but it seemed the only relief was 2 go shopping n its cost me a small fortune all on credit. Anyway thats another story so i guess they worry.
I'm enjoying all this meeting new people n making new friends, this forum is just the best. Sorry i cannot finish this i will just have 2 post n speak later:mad:

hi jd. The doctor's advice was very good - you do have to be very careful about not doing too much. This is something I have to be very careful of and am fairly aware of. It is a very difficult balance working out what you can do without over-doing it. I still tend to get myself in situations where I do too much and then there is a crash. As a matter of fact I have been doing too much this week - but next week is fairly blank and I am going to take some time out.

So I would say - with a lot of experience of this - be really careful about doing too much. If you feel things are getting too much then take some time-out/chill-out/veg out time.

Yes many thanks zaman - I should have updated this. Focusline has become part of the PALS new 24 hour service which is, as you say, part of BSMHFT.
