You must remember it’s your BPD that makes you act the way you do, it’s not you. If you haven’t already you should explain to him that you live at either end of the emotional spectrum. You either have great happiness and are in Hyper Mode or pain and suffering, which is Hypo Mode (see attached)
Here’s what I think your biggest issue is, you are not using your therapist properly. You must NOT suppress anything. You MUST be open and honest and let your emotions out. You must also tell him about your BF issues because that will link back to something in your past, and that’s how you recover.
Do not be afraid. Face your fears, accept your past and you can have a wonderful relationship. Good luck.

That blue box looks like distant from bf me for sure. Is it possible to get that way when in emotional situations? Like that I could be fine with an acquaintance but not able to regulate with him even though he is caring?

I also hope that if I open up I will find the answer. Something feels like it’s been hidden in me and bottled up for like three years (our whole relationship). And I bet it isn’t even bad. I’m just scared for it to come out but idk what it is.

Imo you have a totally different emotional reaction with your bf than anyone else, just emotions will fluctuate wildly, whereas with other people you will be able to regulate them far easier. For me personally I always retreated to the blue hypo mode with my partner, always becoming totally detached. It’s because you ‘fear’ your emotions and believe that they are just too painful to handle. Your BF will trigger your BPD more than any other person, which is why relationships are so difficult. I think for sure you will flit between the two extremes, without even noticing it. It’s because your brain has thoughts on ruminating about the past and projections about the future and whilst you are doing this you ignore the one thing that’s important, the present. Just try to clear your mind. Focus on the here and now, the moment you are in.
