Hi, I'm new so bare with me. Please.
I'd like to learn a healthy coping mechanism instead of exploding and hitting myself. I want to get better because I'm.obssesed about being normal. I'm starting to feel like all of this is invalid and I've made this up somehow. I can't see a reason as to why I have this diagnosis or I act the way. I do.

Hello and welcome to the forum. It is really positive you want to learn some healthier coping ways of managing your emotions. Are you getting any support from your doctor? There is a therapy designed for people with BPD called DBT and it helps people to learn coping methods.

Hello when I was younger the help was offered but I didn't believe I had a problem it was them. Now I'm older I see I need help but of course waiting lists. I've recently just admitted I need help and have been taking the metazipine for about a month. They've only ever mentioned CBT to me. I was going to the assessments for it. But I found a part time job last year just so I was doing something. As everyone says I make excuses which only elevatutes the feeling of I'm making this up. So I missed appointments cause I didn't want to lose my job. So I was taken off and have to start again.

It is positive that now you are ready for help as it would not have worked before you felt ready. I do understand waiting lists are very long. It is frustrating. I hope you are finding the medication is of some help. It can take 6 weeks for it to work so hang on in there. Could you go back and say you are now ready to try CBT?

I feel my problems are dumb and have no real reasoning so I should just get over them right. And stop wasting everyone's time

I do not think your problems are dumb. You are not a waste of time. You have posted this in the BPD section and if you have BPD it is a recognised condition that you cannot help. You deserve support and care.

But what is “normal”? There is no definition of what’s “normal” the minute you learn to accept you are who you are, then you will truly be letting go off all your problems.

I know there is no definition of normal. But I mean normal mental health. And with my problems being dumb I don't know why I have bpd or what caused it. And it stresses me out

If you had therapy it could help you to understand why you have BPD. We all have different reasons. Mine were caused by my parents, for example. I am sorry it stresses you out.

You have no reason to be sorry. I was always told to be like the other kids when I was younger. Grow up act your age. But I don't see that as the issue. Sorry I'm having a bit of a battle in my head. I want to learn to understand it. But I don't know where to start. You look online and it's mixed reviews for bpd. Either positive or seriously negative. The main issue is I want to be able to not get this feeling inside me.of greif that turns to anger. I don't know if anyone else gets it put I get this drop in my chest. I get sad then I get angry cause I'm sad. I'm rambling I'm sorry. Thank you for replying to me

Anger is a common feeling with people who have BPD. It is sad you were always told to grow up. That confuses a child as they do not know what they are meant to do. I was told the same by my dad. I guess you could read up on BPD on here. There are many posts by people with it. Reading their stories may give you an idea of what other people feel.
