I'm starting a new yoga course tomorrow morning and I'm feeling so nervous about it. I havent socialised in such a long time now. I'm actually shaking at the thought. I wasn't even able to function not so long ago, so this is a huge step for me.

Hi Anouska, what a lovely name. Is it Polish?
Well done on the starting Yoga, something I keep meaning to try.
I get very nervous too with new situations, I guess the only way through is just to do it.
Deep long breathes should hopefully take the edge off, good luck with it I hope it all goes well. It will get easier, after the first step.

Thanks Jimmy. The name is my username after one of dear cats that had to put down, it's Russian.

I feel so nervous. I told my 12yr old daughter after she asked me how my day went today. She says " You'll be fine mum, you'll meet new friends" bless her. I should meet new friends, I need to meet new people, I've isolated for such a long time now.

I took some yoga classes with a friend in Bath, and it really helped my schizoaffective. I was a bit pent up waiting for the lesson to start, but the order and discipline it gave me was very beneficial. As you say, it has the added bonus of getting you out and about. We would always have a nice coffee and a chat afterwards.

It's always nerve racking starting something new, isn't it?
But I think it's one of those where the thought of going may be more frightening than the actual experience itself.
Yoga is very good and it might help you relax overall.

Good luck for tomorrow morning and let us know how you got on. :)

Thanks everyone.

I went and feel so relaxed now. It was brilliant, right environment, everything. The lights were turned down low and some very relaxing music being played.

I'm definitely going again.
