When I was 15 i started showing symptoms of Bipolar disorder. However i have recently read the book The Gifted Adult by Mary-Elaine Jacobsen and have been enlightened to find that my behaviour isn't out of the ordinary for everyday genius's. I had been to many councillors and had never felt helped but this book has really helped me to accept me for the person I am and to understand the reasons. Illnesses such as ADHD, OCD, aspurgers and depression have also sometimes been mistaken for giftedness.

Hi Summerlovin

It's fantastic that you have found something to relate to that is so positive! There are very few positive things in the media relating to mental illnesses, especially lesser known ones like Borderline Personality Disorder.

But thanks, it's brightened up my evening! I will be sure to keep an eye out for the book!

Love and Hugs

Glad to brighten up your day Bubbles!!:D Your right, there's very little known about mental illness and society doesn't deal very well with people who are a bit out of the ordinary. I hope the book benefits you!!
