Although I thought this site would be good for me as we all share the same thing. I have just found that my experiences are completly different to everyone else.

I seem to be the only one that beleives that my voices are a mental health problem. Everyone else seems to think that they are anything but.
I also realise that a lot of people in here beleive in God and such like, they beleive that this will stop or help the voices.
Even though I have said a number of times that I am not a beleiver in anything like that people still feel it necessary to tell me that is what I need to do.

I hoped I would find someone on here that was on the same wave length as me. However I have not found that, I have just found people that are trying to convert me into their ways of thinking.

I am a strong willed person and I know what the problem is and what does and does not work for me. I know who I am and I feel that others have not found that out about me yet.

I have not found what I beleived would be a understanding group of people, instead I seem to have just attracted people that feel it necessary to give me therapy and other things along those lines.

Elf,

Please stick around and keep an eye out here for others like yourself. It looks to me like this forum is just slow. I've seen polls of voice hearers, and it appears that around half are believers and half are not. Odd, because I had always been told that 5% of humanity were non believers.

There is a discussion thread titled "Voice Hearer Types" where we attempted to make a list of types, hoping that moderator Paul might be able to sub-categorize the forum along those lines, so that people could group according to type. Do you feel that relgion may be turning some people away from the forum? Do you feel that grouping might improve forum traffic and participation, might help people feel more comfortable?

Kind Regards,
Cal

Hi Elf

I would say I pretty much see things the same as you. I always read the posts of everyone as I find the different views so interesting.

Hi Elf

Cal thank you for the reply.
Maybe the religious aspect is keeping a lot of people away from the site, I have been on other mental health sites and have found religion always causes big gaps between the forum users.
Hence there are places on other forums for belivers or non belivers to go to, so they can be in a more comfortable postion.
Could this forum not have somewere for us non beleivers to go and talk and such like, without feeling we have to be told to pray and things will magically be cured?

Sue thank you for your reply too. Thank you for seeing where I am coming from. I agree I like to read the other experiences of people, however I would like people to see that I do not beleive in God or such like.
I always respect peoples views and beliefs when replying but somehow people do not always do the same when it comes to me.

Elf, Sue, and All,
There is an email link at the bottom of the page for contacting forum moderator/management. I'll will send an email, alerting him to the thread, and you may want to do the same.

This forum has  crashed  once before, and so maybe they will appreciate a few suggestions.
