Heres my results.
Your score was 12 out of a possible 80.
Scores of 30 or less indicate a lack of empathy common in people with Autism or Asperger’s Syndrome.
Higher scores indicate greater levels of empathy.

This was my score:

Your score was 43 out of a possible 80.
Scores above 30 are generally not indicative of an Autism Spectrum disorder.
Higher scores indicate greater levels of empathy.

I scored 49 out of a possible 80. I thought I was waaaaay more empathetic than that!
Having said all that, I would take this test with a grain of salt.

66.

Empathy for me is a defence mechanism. The better I understand people, the safer I feel.

64, not bad. I'm surprised it's that high actually. Do I get an award or certificate now?

I got 55, I know I'm empathetic but as I've gotten older(I'm 40) I kinda don't care as much!

I swear I thought I was going to get at least a median score, but I got 13. I don't know that introvertness is related to lack of empathy...

Scored 71.

I don't think this test should be taken much more seriously than a bit of fun.

Personality archetypes are more diverse than we imagine.
Example, introvertness could be related to someone not feeling a need to share spiritually with others.

Personally, I dont think someones capacity for empathy can be measured by how they react to a sad story or how much sympathy they show.

Incidently, from experience, around the time i struggled with my own empathy. Ie being exploited and abused daily because of it. I discovered that behind this empathy there was nothing of substance which helped ME.
Sympathy for oneself does more harm than good and it feeds off itself. There are more interesting avenues to explore, one of which is'personal responsibility' something which the empathetic animal inside me has always lacked.
