Ear Cleaning psychosis

Hello just registered here.

I'm been living with psychosis for about 3 years. I didn't get treatment until about 6 months ago when my symptoms got much worse. I mostly suffer from negative symptoms.

I'm not really sure how to put this. My experience with psychosis started after I got an ear cleaning from my doctor. It's really strange. I got one 3 years ago and ever since I always felt off. Everything wasn't enjoyable, I didn't really feel much, I was a lot motivated and didn't do much around the house. My symptoms worsened after I got the second ear cleaning. The day after I got my second ear cleaning. I woke up with delusions. In addition to that I suffered from sexual problems.

I'm kind of curious if anyone has had any similar experiences. The people I'm working with at the EPI were pretty confused why it would trigger my psychosis. They said the stress of it could have caused it. I think their theory is that I kept a lot of things inside though I honestly don't remember having any problems beforehand. I was mostly carefree.

i wonder if im the only person in the world that got psychosis from ear cleaning

what is my life

Welcome to the forums!

It's probably just a coincidence that your psychosis started at the same time as these cleanings, mine had no apparent reason for starting as I had no problems or stress or any kind of trauma before hand.

As far as I can tell it can happen to anyone at any time.

Psychosis and hearing go hand in hand. Actually, my first psychotic episode started after I got an ear infection, so there's something to what you're saying. I wish I knew what's behind this, but oh well...

I don't know... my first episode started when I was inside a classroom. There was a girl sitting in front of me. I was very bored so I started thinking that this girl in front of me probably wanted to be with our professor in a sexual kind of way (she was flirty with him all the time.)

I wasn't even moving and my mouth was shut trying to focus on what our professor was saying. Then out of the blue, she turned her head back to me, she laughed and she said "-insert my name- no!!!!", without any apparent reason.

And she did it while our professor was speaking. It was so weird because everyone was extremely quiet and no one even noticed what had happened, nobody said anything to us. That was the first time I thought something like "did she just read my mind???".

After that I started digging deeper and now I'm 100% sure that TB is real. :(

But I don't recall having ear cleanings when it all started...

What's TB?

Yeah I remember reading an article saying it was related to the inner ear being infected. Though I don't know how my inner ear would get infected from an ear cleaning.

It's true that part of psychosis is connecting seemingly unconnected events and drawing meaning from it. it causes a spiral of confusion that can really mess your head up!

What happened is the psychosis developed for some reason and you connected it to a recent event of some significance to your person. The ear cleaning! I mean it is an invasive procedure but I'm more than willing to bet that it has nothing to do with your psychosis.

I mean I find it kind of unbelievable myself. Though the way I experienced was so real. I could feel myself become more psychotic right after the ear cleaning. As in the moment it was done. I kind of started feeling negative symptoms. I even had trouble getting the x-ray right after cause I was disorganized. I don't remember the details to well. Though I remember on the bus ride home I just sat down and felt like everything was over.

I went home right after and just went to sleep cause I lost motivation to do anything else. Then I woke up the day after and I started panicking that everything felt wrong.

It could be my mind playing tricks though it feels far too real for it to be that.

Maybe I have like weird ears or something.

Even after the first ear cleaning I felt like something was off because of it. I just didn't really understand what.

Though the more bizarre thing is I remember reading about ear cleaning messing with your head or something along those lines and I've been trying to look for it since though no luck.
