Driving anxiety and other disasters

Greetings all. I just started teaching dance classes. I was driving to my dance class tonight and I am not used to driving on snowy roads. I though it would be all right, but it was so dark and slippery, and I had a 20 minute drive. I got scared and turned around and went home. I called and texted everyone to postpone. I am very embarrased because everyone else made it and I let my anxiety take over. Some people were forgiving, but I could sense that others were mad. I fear I have ruined my reputation and I now present as flaky and unreliable.

I have always had driving phobia but I got over it. But then I moved to the USA and had to learn to drive on the other side and my phobia came back, then I beat it again. But this driving on snowy roads has been hard to conquer.

Can you take the bus or a cab? That may be easier than trying to overcome your driving anxiety at this point.
