This is just a rant and isn't directed at the lovely people on MHF who actually are more friendly than any other forum I've ever been a part of.
There is this 'other' forum I visit and they promise me friendship and say I can lean on them for support. Problem is they are a cliquey group and I am not a member of their little 'inner sanctum' so to speak. I could probably say I was about to do something really awful and they'd still ignore me. I reach out on their 'friendship threads' and say good morning/good evening (whatever) and welcome new members (hell, I'm even a forum guide there), but nobody EVER replies to my threads and they are really unwelcoming to an outsider. They receive funding from the government to keep this forum going and it is staffed 24/7, yet they let so many just fall through the cracks. It irks me! I reply to new people or people in crisis...
Wow what a difference MHF is! I am considering leaving the other forum and resigning my position as guide due to the cliquey groups found there. It seems I am just a fringe dweller and that is where I sadly belong.

Hi Vanish,

I just had a thought; Well, maybe you could try to be applying to be guide, for MHF, I am sure that the team could benefit via another pair of hands, to help them, and you would be a valuable member of team, hang on, I thought you are in hospital at the moment? How are you, by the way?

Take care now,

Natalie.

LOL Natalie, I am indeed in hospital still. I'm in a private clinic which allows you to bring in your devices as long as you agree to certain terms and conditions.
I don't know about being a guide here on MHF, I'm am not up to speed with many support services outside my country and stuff like that. I think my guide days are behind me I feel.
I've since left that other forum after emailing the staff telling them how I feel (without ranting like I did here). Sadly, it's not the first time that forum has been accused of being too cliquey and not very welcoming. This time I won't be back there.

I can guess what forum it is, if it's the one I'm thinking of it's the one that caused me serious harm

two words in the name of the forum: first one is psych - is that a word that is in the forum you are referring to?

Hi there MP, good to see you about! No it wasn't the forum you were thinking of, rather it was one where only members from my country could post. It seemed as if you were on the outer, then nobody wanted anything to do with you. You could post "I just chopped off my leg" for instance and you'd just be ignored. There were unfortunately too many attention seeking people in little groups and often others in crisis would go unanswered, even by staff.
I don't know how people come to be volunteers here MP, I'm not sure I want to know. I'd like to just be a regular old Joe member.

There's no punishment colour MP, bright pink are guides. I think guides generally like their role and don't think they are being punished.

Hi Vanish

I hope things are going well.

Is one of the words of that group, beyond

I hope you don't mind me asking. I was a member of a group and then suddenly I couldn't get access. It was because I wasn't resident in that country. I was upset that there was no warning.

I find this group very friendly

Helen xx

Hey Helen, I know the group you’re thinking of but no it’s a different one. Although this particular forum in question doesn’t allow people from outside Australia. I even had to disable my VPN as it thought I was from abroad.
