I know im not right but don’t know what it exactly is. I’m in an unhappy marriage, I love my 2 children and would do anything for them but I don’t know how long I can stay with a man who doesn’t make me happy and makes me feel like shit. Iv lost myself because of him and how he’s treated me over the years!!

Yes I have asked him to leave many times but it never happens. I know it’s what I want and need, I can stay where I am in the family home with the children and he would have to move.

Emotional, there has been things thrown around before buts it’s the way I feel that is the problem. I need to focus on me and my children.

I don’t want anyone else, I just want to be with my children and bring them up in a settled environment. I can stay in the house I am in but I need him to leave. I think I am going to ask him
For some time apart, he can find somewhere to live and he can come here and see the children when I go out, we can keep the children settled but maybe that will hit him then.

what I did was to seek help from wherever I could
its been a hard road actually finding help
I started looking for therapists without knowing the ropes
like checking their qualifications and stuff
and eventually I sought help from mental health
as a last resort

but actually its been a long process
but it has worked really , although there is still some damage of course
but I'm now functioning much better with my life
I have my own interests going on,
I try to help others and I get on better with my family

I will try to think about what organisations might be helpful

do you live in the UK ?

Hi Amy20,

Sorry to hear about the issues you have been experiencing.

Do you have close relations/friends you can speak to about this situation?

Have you seen a therapist about your relationship before?

Yes I live in the uk, yes I have seen a counsellor with my husband but maybe I need to find one to see on my own. I have great parents that are a great help with my children

I notice you said in an earlier thread
that maybe it will hit him when you leave

so you are really hoping to save the relationship then ?

That's good and maybe one less thing to think about with the kids support.

I'm big on counselling, can't do you any harm in these circumstances surely.

That's a good start in regard to having great parents for support.

A counsellor in my experience can help you find an answer or at least a way forward. Never a bad thing!

GL Amy and please keep us updated on your situation.
