I've gotta pay 60 pounds out of my benefits each week which leaves me with not much, if I wasn't getting DLA on top of my ESA I'd be screwed. 40 pounds of that is just service charges that I have to pay on my rent because housing benefit doesn't cover it like for example (Estate Maintenance) (Caretaking & Cleaning) and water rates, its like there just adding more stuff to it. Then Virgin Media are ripping me off charging me 20 pounds a week for "just internet"

I called Virgin many times and they say that I'm paying to much then when its looked into they then tell me I'm paying the correct amount and only offered me 1 pound 10p of my bill.

God help me if I ever lose my DLA because on ESA without DLA or PIP I'll be getting about 70 pounds per week which out of that I'll be paying 60 per week out of it which leaves me with 10 pounds to live on.

That does sound a lot. I’m with virgin and wanted to cancel tv to free view. But was told it was cheaper to keep the basic package . I have phone, broadband and basic media package and I pay £47 per month. £20 per week sounds excessive.. I also have my mobile on a sim only contract at £12 per month

Considering I only have Broadband, no phoneline or TV etc just internet which is unlimited Broadband. I know that some people have package deals and are paying less than I am. I said this to Virgin and they have the cheek to try sell me more services and they say the other package deals are for new customers only. I only need broadband I'm getting, I have a phone line with BT basic where the line rental is only 5.10 per month because Virgin could not offer me anything decent in terms of price. I should be paying a lot less for just internet. There just a bunch of money grabbers and don't value there customers I've been with them since 2009.

Virgin Media are a nightmare.

I think you shoud be able to get your service charge paid for ,look into it xxxx
I hope so but somehow I think I have no rights around the service charge issue which is what I'm trying to find out. They can't keep adding more things to it. I expect they do this because they know people on low income are struggling and they want housing freed up for greedy pigs to buy.

That’s exactly what they did with me. Although I said I didn’t want the tv package the price they quoted for broadband was stupid and I’m a bit of a pathetic pushover and went for it. I don’t even use my landline I just thought I needed it for broadband.

Its wrong what they do, if they can't con you into paying for services you don't want then they will give you a very bad deal on one service. Other broadband companies are no better but Virgin has got to be one of the worse. I have a good mind to make a complaint to OfCom and trading standards. Its disgusting the way they treat there customers.

I had a friend who was with Virgin for 5 years but then she decided to switch to another broadband company because they were cheaper, she phoned up Virgin to tell them she is switching and they told her no problem and that they will end the contract... a few weeks later they continued to charge her with direct debit payments even though they had stopped her service and on top of that they also wanted to charge a 1,500 fee for ending the contract? which they had no right to do because she was well outside of the contract as she had been with them for 5 years and the contract was for 12 mounts when she originally signed up. She called them up many times and so did I as I was helping her, they said she doesn't have to pay anything and on top of that they put a tag on her line to stop her going with any other service providers. She stopped the direct debits as they were still charging her three months later... After a while she never heard anything from them until she got a Final Demand to pay costs which she didn't owe and threats of bailiffs. She had to get legal advice and all sorts. In the end she didn't have to pay anything but she never got her over payments back from Virgin neither.

If it wasn't for me helping her those greedy pigs would have taken advantage of her and charged her a large amount of money while still taking direct debits from her bank account.
