Does anyone else get extremely irritated over loud noises?

I have a very short fuse when it comes to certain noises. As of right now, I'm getting very angry over my grandfather playing loud music over his speakers in the house. This is especially annoying when I'm trying to sleep and he won't stop playing his loud music. Another thing that annoys me is the Band-tailed Pigeon. There are no other birds that annoy me other than this one, because it's just this specific bird that makes this specific noise that sets me off. There's at least three of them outside my house. At first, they would only do this in the morning, but now they do it ALL DAY. They sound like Owls when they make their noises, and I get extremely pissed when I hear them. I often do things to get them to go away, then they fly away and make this retarded noise when they're flying away and then they fly somewhere else where I can still hear them, but can't get to them, either because I can't see them or because they're in someone else's yard nextdoor, and then fly back onto my yard after I go away. I hate these birds.

Other noises that annoy me are cats. Either when they're fighting or when they make very loud noises either because they're looking for their kittens or whatever. There are so many cats around my house and nobody here has made any attempts to get rid of them or slow their reproduction down, because there's so many strays around here and they keep popping out more and more. Cats are an invasive species and have been wiping out many different birds in New Zealand and around the world. There was this one time a while back when there was this cat that would wine or cry out or make this specific noise that it would do literally all night, but I couldn't do anything other than shout at it out of rage because it was in somebody else's yard and I couldn't see it. I think it was making this noise because it was on heat and couldn't find a mate or something. Loud cat noises annoy me. Another animal noise that annoys me are dogs. Dogs barking really pisses me off as well. Especially at night. I used to get woke up in the middle of the night when I had to go to school the next day by those chihuahuas we have outside. I have a special hatred for chihuahuas more than any other breed of dog. They are loud, yapping little ankle biters that my family doesn't want to seem to get rid of. I think we had four chihuahuas growing up, all but one are dead and gone, and just recently (like sometime last year) my grandmother got another one, and me and this dog have been having problems since. I've been wanting to kill this thing ever since they got it. It used to throw up a lot in the house and it even used to piss and shit in my bedroom. I can't take that at all. If there's any kind of dog that I wouldn't have a problem with, it would most likely be a Bloodhound, since those things are pretty dumb, never bark, and always keep to themselves.

As for more animal noises that irritate me are cows and donkeys, since we also live in front of a farm (to make everything more miserable). Sometimes if they're close to the fence, I'll kick the fence and yell at them to get them to fuck off. I really hate those cows and donkeys out there. I also hate the sound of planes or just people in the neighborhood in general or of my little brother screaming or just kids screaming altogether. Loud kids screaming or horseplaying around especially when I'm trying to sleep is very annoying and I also go berserk when I hear that. Another thing is that I enjoy being outside alone just about everyday so I can drift off into my own little dreamworld, and when other people are outside, I go insane with anger. I can't stand when people do that, especially when it's a holiday and a lot of people are coming over. It's either because I don't want people looking at me when I'm in this state, because they might comment about my running or whatever it is. I think it might be some anxiety I have of what other people are thinking of me or whatever. Whatever it is, I just like being alone outdoors in my own little world. I prefer silence and alone in general. I hate noises, people (or animals) being around me when I'm outside drifting off into my own world, or even objects being in my vision path when I'm looking at somebody. As for the last one, I don't get that problem that much anymore, but I used to always put my hand out to cover up sharp edges, like of a table or a desk, that were in front of me for some reason. I used to be very sensitive to that. Can anyone else relate to this?

Very common to be triggered by noises, either anger or anxious.
For me it’s more anxious and nauseous such as people eating, or horrible as it is to say my step-child whispering what they are reading rather than into themselves quietly.
Doors slamming, loud cars, cars beeping their horns, loud dogs who constantly bark etc

I personally cannot adapt to sirens, when emergancy services have to be on a mad chase, or sudden emergancy call outs. I had a situation once, via in London, North London, and stayed with me for most of the evening, I just couldn't concentrate on what I was about to focusing on doing.

Also, blaring loud music from cars, unless of reasonable tune, I don't like it when the summer comes along, because there are alot of folk, in London, who will have windows down, and loud blaring music.

Tune whilstling is another one of my to use an expression pet hates. Although they might be in tune, I just don't like it when people tune whistle, then, and as with the sirens as well, that's just me.

Yes - can't stand loud noise, or even moderate noise. My phone can make me jump, or something dropped on the wooden floor, a car horn outside gives me a racing heart. I watch tv on my laptop with the volume really low. Its one of the reasons I hate to leave the house because I become over stimulated with noise. My son is autistic and I wonder if its rubbed off on me, or maybe I am on the spectrum somewhere. Have you tried ear defenders?

Personally, I go into rages and wasn’t anxious over noises (depending on what they were) up until recently, to where now I see it happening so often to where I think it’s bad luck. And I fall under the impression that the bad luck spirit can hear my thoughts and know what I am thinking. For example, even when I have good luck, there’s always something there to ruin it (including my 21st birthday). I’ve gotten so paranoid to where I’m horrified that I might actually be Schizophrenic or even worse that something might be physically wrong with me that’s causing these symptoms (I have hypochondria that’s very severe but has started calming down recently at least, but then again there’s a million other problems that’ll take it’s place). I’ve grown so desperate to where I’m willing to do anything (and I do mean anything) it takes to make my problems go away. I stole a pellet rifle from an old house my family used to live in before they moved into the new one behind it in an attempt to kill the birds, but missed every single time, to where it was as if those birds were playing games with me to deliberately fuck with me or whatever supernatural force was driving them, because there’s no way all this shit could just be a coincidence, especially if it’s all happening at once like this. The animals in the yard will never go away. I can’t shoot them because I don’t have gun since they hide it from me, can’t hit them with a spare object because I can’t throw and I’ll miss every time, so I do the only option that is available, which is to scream at them. I screamed almost uncontrollably when those birds would never shut up and did it again just when I thought I didn’t have any left in me when I accidentally deleted a very important document I saved for something I needed to copy and paste on here, since it wasn’t letting me post around this time, which was what contributed to my feeling of being cursed or having bad luck. I felt that even God couldn’t save me at that point. I got anxious being outside because I didn’t want those triggers to happen, but then again I get those triggers while indoors inside my room too to where it’s become insufferable with no means of escape whatsoever. I can’t even ignore the bad luck (or what I perceive it as), because if one common thing that annoys me doesn’t do the trick then something else will.

I feel like I’m going crazy but this is really happening, unless I’m not living in reality at all and this is some kind of dream. I want peace of mind, but I can’t get a moment of that anymore. On the first day this started, it was literally one or more times every single minute both outside and inside would annoy me. The birds, the planes, the ATVs, the cars in my neighborhood, the cars nextdoor, the cars going down the driveway away from my neighborhood down the street, the neighborhood dogs barking at night that I can’t see where they’re coming from but can only hear, if not them, then the cats, if not them, then my mom coming out, if not her then somebody else in my household, and in some cases, I’ve even heard weird animal noises off in the distance that I couldn’t even identify what the hell would make that sound. And the cows and donkeys in the field behind the fence in the backyard, since we live directly in front of some shitty farm, the flies, gnats, and other bugs during our putrid summer in this hot and humid hell’s cape, even the weather during the winter sucks and it doesn’t even snow here anymore. If not that, then I’ll get an itch on my skin everywhere thatvdoesnt go away all night so that I can’t even get some rest. I spoke with a nurse about this and she told me it could either be dry skin or a condition called psychogenic itching, to which I asked her if it could be caused by stress, to which she responded with an affirmative. I only honestly think I might have both, honestly. My paranoia that I get at nighttime as if I’m being watched, someone or something is behind me, weird or fucked up images flash in my head or I imagine things popping out at me but it feels so vivid. And there’s probably even other problems too that I can’t think of this second.

Hi

The part about pigeons made me laugh. I know exactly what you mean, " fking pigeons right? "

I can't offer you much advice, I just hope my message brings you some comfort that is all. Apart from your feeling of anxiety, I would say you're pretty justified in your irritation at the sounds you describe. Anyway, wish you luck,

Peace
