Does anyone else feel like a little kid?

I discovered that I act little sometimes with my bf when we started dating a couple years ago.

Sometimes I love it and other times I feel like it’s a little wrong.

Anyway now I let myself be “a little kid” when I’m alone at my place sometimes and I find it relaxing. The past couple days I felt that way and was way less irritable with people. I was really happy.

I tried to explore how others experience it but it has a bit of a sexual connotation online lol. I wish I could be my little self in an innocent way with people other than my bf but idk how that would work out. It just seems like I’m hiding a side of myself. I don’t know if that made sense lol. Thanks for reading my rambles.

I usually feel like a kid still and see nothing wrong with it. I’m not hurting anyone and I’m sure you aren’t either so just enjoy it while you can.

Agreed. I was a super anxious little kid lol. I think I have some leftover childishness still in there.

I still get mistaken for a child, but I know that's not what you mean

but especially when I'm happy/excited my voice, laugh and personality can be very bubbly and childlike I've been told

Probably slightly different to what you mean but I feel I’ve thought and acted like a 12 year old most of my life. Whilst there’s a fun side the consequences of thinking like that have largely been dire for me.

I am not the same as you but do feel I’ve lived most of my life with the mindset of a frightened twelve year old child.

Sorry about multiple replies. I forget what I’ve done sometimes and don’t know how to delete messages on here. Sorry. 🙈

I sometimes revert back to to childlike state. It's horribly frustrating and I hate it. They say it's a coping strategy so it could just be a defense mechanism. Or maybe we are actually hiding a deeper truth that is too hard to face.

I also get mistaken for a kid. My boss was recently like sidestepping around saying there’s a dress code because I had my hair up, jeans, tennis shoes no makeup one day when I was in a hurry and I was like “yes I know I can’t interact with patients like this because I look like a middle schooler who just wandered in”

Sorry though I didn’t mean to bring up anything painful. I know that there’s a difference between getting excited about kid things and feeling unable to control acting like a kid. Under stress I sometimes have like mini tantrums but maybe I’m seeing the flip side of that like I can enjoy things like a kid too? I don’t know. 🙈

I'm 5ft, have a baby face and no amount of make up and dressing up will make me look an adult, maybe late teens if I put in a lot of effort, I still get asked what school I go to and I left school 4 years ago, but it doesn't bother me, I've been told it's a good thing to look younger than you are

When you get older you’ll realise just how good it is to look younger than you actually are. Enjoy it while you can lol. :)

Yes I can finally take it as a compliment too lol. I hated it when I was a teenager because I looked like 14 when I was 18
