I have no contact with family. But do have several close friends who I see regularly and know straight away if anything is not ok with me.

I have friends I have accumulated over the years. Still would like 2-3 close buddies who live local. It's tough though. I did a lot of local volunteering but still hard to make pals.

It can be hard to find people that are true friends that accept you when things aren't going to so well

Nope. All my friends went missing when I became ill. Shows really that they were not true friends after all. I have my wife who is now my best friend. I am not really bothered about making new friends as I like to keep people at arms length away from me.

I too lost a lot of frinds when I was hospitalised. I became the mad lady to avoid. But I have one lifelong friend but we don’t see each other often just talk on the phone every week. But the two closest to me both have MH problems so they understand my weird moments and I understand theirs and we meet and talk regularly. One in met thru hospital the other was The daughter of one on my neighbours. When we found out we had similar problems we hit it off and now we’re going on holiday together in August.

I had a good group of friends from college until I started to have public episodes/breakdowns, then one by one they all turned against me, I have my FP, but we argue all the time so it isn't much of a friendship

A group of friends would be good for lightsabre practice. Especially if they have younglings too!! (y)

Oddly enough I am bipolar and have lots of friends. Some of them since childhood. There are periods of time when I don't have energy to see any of my friends but they are still there waiting for me to get better.
