getting or inheriting illnesses your parents have had

i worry as mum had breast cancer twice and other familiy members on her side had it so i may have the breast cancer gene

she also had skin cancer a few times ,melanoma and carcinoma

she had anxiety and lots of other physical problems

my dad has dementia and he got it in his 50s

he has anxiety and depression and is quite strange when it comes to mixing with people like me (IRL)

a few cousins on mums side had stomach cancer

i know this isn't a cheery thread but does anyone else worry? xx

Hi Folks/Hi All,

Yes, i worry about my potential gent friend, if we'll ever get off the ground so to speak, I worry that what with this pandemic and lockdown, if he'll ever be able to get back into our propery site, for him to be working again, full time, in his brand new department.

And also, I worry if i'll ever return to resume, volunteering on the occasional basis work.

I hope Fairy Lu you are well at the moment.

Best regards,

Natalie.

I kinda have the opposite worry. Of passing on what I have to children, it why I'm am scared to have them. I have a niece and nephew who I am scared will end up with mental illness because it come from both sides of their family. Like I might somehow contribute to their unhappiness or unwellness.

My mum had MND. If I got that, IDK what i would do.
Dad had dementia and then a heart attack. Dementia is a bit like schiz for elderly people so maybe i could fight it.

Ataxia thatmay be inherited and unfortunately my younger gaughter seems to have inherited the lot. Yet my older daughter is 100% fit and has not inherited anything other than my hair colour

Hi Midnight,

Fortunately, in my close intermediate family tree, only my father is diabetic, he is controlled with suitable medication.

Best regards.
