Has anyone experienced discrimination by siblings when a parent has died? My siblings cut me out of my mother's will and the family trust? Feel helpless to do anything about it - I am the eldest of five.

That is sad to hear. You would hope that family would treat you with compassion and help you with your life, especially in a family wealthy enough to have a family trust. Is that legal? Surely it would mean contesting the will in a court of law?

Sending strength and best wishes

Hi, I think it's worth seeking legal advice. I don't know the law in NZ, but in the UK I don't think siblings would have any say in this, it's up to the person who wrote the will. I've also been told that even if the person who wrote the will didn't include one of their children that child can challenge the decision and unless there was a specific reason stated for not including them would likely be successful in that challenge.
