Depression and PTSD? Something More?

Im sure most with PTSD understand the depression that goes along with it,especially when symptomatic. But how do you know when it's just due to being symptomatic or when it becomes something that might warrant a separate/added diagnosis?

What diagnosis do you mean SunnyDaze? If the depression is worsening then maybe you need more help with that than you are getting at the moment.

I mean a separate/added depression diagnosis.

Yeah,maybe I just need to reach out to my Dr or therapist instead of trying to manage on my own.It usually passes when my PTSD symptoms subside but I'm beginning to realize the depression seems to always be there at some level.
