I was really sceptical of group dbt skills but my second session we have an emotional mind and a rational mind and the wise mind is the bit between both that we should get to and we did a chain analysis of a situation and that involves :

What the problem was : example I was feeling suicidal

The back ground factors: I had a fight I was failing I was
Tiered

The feelings: I was feeling guilty
I was thinking I'm not good enough

How I reacted: did I hurt myself or not ?

It's about understanding what's behind the immideate feelings I found it really helpful :)

Chain analysis is a really useful tool. I use it from time to time. :)

I wish I could have a dbt refresher course. It's 14 years since I did it and it's reading posts like this that I realise how much I've forgotten.
