I woke up in the middle of the night with panic attack. I had sleep paralysis last night and now this. I apologize if my grammar isn't correct because I am freaking out. I am so shaky, I have foggy vision, I have tunnel vision, I am having issues breathing ( but forcing myself to breathe properly), going through depersonalzation/derealization, I feel like I am currently going through a out of body experience. I feel so numb and scared. I feel like I am crawling out of my skin. ugh I hate this I just want to feel normal. im having a snack to get my mind off of things but I am feeling so wobbly.

i am so sorry, you seem to experience disoccation while being awoke up.

i experience disoccation while wake. when if that happens again or you can reflect on the experience again, all of your senses are cutted off, set up an inner alarm.

when i did not have an alarm i would come back to my senses wondering what happened to me and thinking about of it as wierd moments. so i had a dream that i was completely trapped and my inner alarm went off and i pulled myself out.

sometimes a reminder is also helpful. or self monitored system would work.

i can understand you. you're not "crazy" if you think you are. no you are not crazy. it's real because it happened to me.

only way to keep your awareness 100% there of the entire time is to recognize immediately and turn on your alarm when the disoccation creeps in again to "hijack" your brain.

Im not sure If it helps you but maybe try to do a task that involves a rythm to ground yourself. Like folding clothes or cleaning, something that might help your mind to focus.
That helped me a lot. Thanks. I usually distract myself with movies or video games. I just wanna get out of my head.

Unfortunately, I get it while I am asleep and awake. How often does that happen to you? I am actually dignosed with DP/DR along with CPTSD. What do you think helps you ground yourself the best? Thank you for telling me I am not crazy. It is really easy to feel that way.

I hope you could calm down. I had similar dissociative panic attacks a lot before. I kept paper sandwich bags next to me in case to try to get CO2 in my head. Panic attacks tend to occur when our brain have too much O2.
