CT scan worries.....

Anyone ever have a CT scan???

I have had 2 CT scans in my life. One for my head when I was 17 in 2007, and another for my abdomen/pelvis because I had to get my appendix out when I was 21, in 2010. I was just wondering if anyone else has had 1 or multiple CT scans

How many have you had, and when did you have them?

My main question is that I am just worried about the increased cancer risk from my 2 scans. Is it a big risk? Just because I was young at the time

In my opinion I would say it is a tiny risk if any at all.

Maybe you are overthinking things a little?

Also welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum.
Sorry it's a bit of a late reply to your question.
But, due to my physical illness, I've had so, so many CT-scans, X-rays and MRI-scans in the past 3 years on top of the amounts that I had them in the past. I'm still cancer-free (as far as I know) and I'm pretty sure that the technology gets so much better every couple of years that they can make sure the radiation used gets less (if that makes sense?).
Now onto numbers. When I was a kid I had a heart condition and a hip condition and I'm pretty sure I had a lot of X-rays, now that was in the 1980s.
I had 2 MRI scans, a CT scan, a CT-angiogram and a few X-rays about 6 years ago.
And in the past 3 years I had 3 MRI scans, 4 or 5 CT-scans and a load of X-rays.
And trust me on this one, I'm not glowing green or anything :)
