Hi every one. i found this forum because i am a friend of someone who really needs help,I want to help him but i dont know where to begin. i decided to post this here because the doc said he is depressed. He is a 16 years old boy. leaves with his mom and dad. his the only child .
few days ago. he began acting strangely. he makes no sense when his talking. if i asked him the date he would give me his birthday, some times he would sit down and say allot of numbers. basically making no sense what so ever at all times. he seems very certain about what his talking about. we took him to hospital and all the doc said was he is probably really depressed and referred us to a children's Psychiatrist. it may take few weeks before we get to see this Psychiatrist .
i am not surprised at all that his depressed, i have been friends with him for a while. but i am suprised to see that this might be the effect of depression.

just something i forgot to mention. he told the doctor that he hears voices in his head all the time. but last few days these voices has become stronger. they might be telling him to do things.

The best way you can help your friend is to be there to listen when he needs to talk. Don't abandon him just because he's not well. Talk to him of things that are going on in the outside world, school, sports etc. It's important that he's not feeling isolated but don't press him to talk if he doesn't want to. Your friend is lucky to have a thoughtful person as a friend.
